As if the insanity could get any worse, they are protesting the National Association of Free Will Baptist Convention in OK this week. Ok, so be an extremist and protest against anything that is supposedly anti-Christian, but a Baptist convention. Puh lease. If you are going to protest everyone that does not agree with you then it is them against the world. How pathetic!!!! They are NOT Christians as far as I am concerned. While I am no judge of someones heart, there is the whole thing about our actions revealing what is in our heart. Enough Said.

A cacophony of more rock/metal/alternative/etc christian music being played along side some old fashioned hymns would be fun.

When one of the staffers at Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab (who often does a limited edition perfume for Comic Con) tweeted about this, my reply was that I really hoped they wouldn't come to DCon. I really don't think it would be positive in any way. Like others have said, they THRIVE on conflict. And whether the conflict came from vocal Christian geeks or random con-goers, the result would be the same. They would get their chance to draw extra attention and spread more evil and hatred.

Though we might draw some interest because we were Christians protesting a supposedly Christian group, most would see that as more evidence of Christian in-fighting.

Myself, I might characterize Westboro BC as a cult.

Looks like they gave them what for. A few of the signs I could do without though. And you may recognize our old friend Buddy Jesus....small con-world. LOL

The one with the megaphone would make me want to yell out
"What do we want??"
"Fry's dog!"
"When do we want it??"
"Fry's dog!"

They protested the Assemblies of God General Council a few years ago. I think because the Council was voting on a position statement regarding whether divorcées could hold the position of deacon (that one passed—they can, but the Council does not compel any individual church to adopt the new rule). A couple of members of my youth group were unwise enough to go out and try to argue with them. Fortunately nothing untoward happened, but it could easily have gone another way, given how high strung some Pentecostal kids can be.

They're not even really a church, and they claim to be independent Baptists, so no convention. In reality, it's just one family who makes their living off suing other people. I think they are a scam more than anything.

Umm if Im not mistaken - they were at dragoncon last year.

Remember near where the Parade starting spot was located? That group on the corner with the condemning signs? Something about us all going to hell?

I know that one of them saw my badge and called me a hypocrite, blaspheming..
lets just skip the last word.

I refused to talk to those people. They want an excuse to start yelling and making more of a scene.

Anyway, one thing that came of it was, some of the other parade people saw my badge afterwards and ask what I thought of that group and I was given a chance to explain how FFC is different.
